(WBTW) – A Myrtle Beach church is helping homeless people get the resources they need.
Christ United Methodist Church started its annual homeless outreach program back up on Saturday. Dozens of volunteers gave away clothing, blankets, shoes, toiletries and food. Members of ECHO, the Eastern Carolina Homelessness Organization, were also available to help anyone looking for housing or employment.
Organizers Michelle Snoberger and Chris Koppel started their homeless outreach about two years ago, by driving around and handing out hot meals and clothing from their car. Now, seven local churches are involved in the outreach program.“We’re all just as human as they are and only one choice away from being in the same position. And so we’re just loving as God calls us to love and that’s why we do it.,” said Snoberger.
Christ United will hold its homeless outreach the second Saturday of every month. The next one will be on march 10th. The church is accepting donations for the distribution.
