MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A Myrtle Beach man pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday to having child pornography. 

A press release from the office of United States Attorney Beth Drake confirms that 46-year-old James Robert Fix, of Myrtle Beach, pled guilty to possession of child pornography.

Federal agents raided Fix’s Myrtle Beach home Nov. 24, 2015, based on information that Fix was receiving child pornography via email. Fix admitted to having child pornography and gave his laptop, cell phone and a thumb drive to the feds.

Evidence presented in court confirmed that Fix owned “numerous videos and images containing child pornography.”

Fix can receive is imprisonment for 10 years and a fine of $250,000.

Fix will be sentenced once the judge has reviewed the presentence report which will be prepared by the U.S. Probation Office.
