MARION, SC (WBTW) – Marion City Council held a special called meeting Tuesday night. The meeting was held entirely in executive session and lasted nearly one hour.
According to the agenda, council discussed both a legal update and a personnel matter regarding the city’s police department. Marion City Council did not take any action on either of the items.
City of Marion Publicist Vicki Nichols, said Chief Dewayne Tennie was placed on administrative leave with pay on Mar. 2 “due to a pending investigation.” The city said no other information will be released because the investigation involves a “personnel matter.”
News13 reached out to several Marion City Council members after Tuesday’s meeting, but they declined an interview.
