What better reason to treat yourself to a day at the salon than supporting local homeless children and young adults.
Ocean’s Edge Salon and Spa in Surfside Beach celebrated its re-opening, on Sunday, with a fundraiser for the Sea Haven Youth Shelter. The salon donated 100% of its profit from the day to Sea Haven. Ocean’s Edge also plans to provide free haircuts and makeovers to Sea Haven youth preparing to interview for jobs. Surfside Beach Mayor Bob Childs also attended the ribbon cutting, and did the honors himself. “We’re really excited to be a part of helping young people that may have been forgotten by others,” said owner Maureen McGrath. “But we want the young people out there to know that they have not been forgotten, and we’re here to help them get back on their feet.”
