MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Two people were arrested Monday morning after attempting to get away from Myrtle Beach police officers.
Captain Joey Crosby with the police department says officers were called to a suspicious vehicle parked in the KFC restaurant parking lot on North Kings Highway. When officers arrived, they found two people sleeping in the car, one of which had a handgun lying in their lap.
When officers attempted to wake the duo and speak with them, the driver sped away. While attempting to flee pursuing officers, the duo crashed then jumped from the car and tried to run on foot, Capt. Crosby confirms.
The two suspects were arrested after a short foot chase. Police have not yet released the names or official charges of the suspects.
