FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Despite numerous requests for information related to several resignations, terminations and leave of absences, Florence School District One has not directly commented on what is causing the shake-up at West Florence High School.

In a statement Friday morning, FSD1 Interim Superintendent Dr. Dan Strickland says, “In his capacity as acting principal of West Florence High School, Dr. Kelvin Wymbs, FSD1 Director of Secondary Education, has immediately addressed any issues that have come to his attention and he will continue to closely monitor and supervise all matters related to West Florence High School.”

The statement, sent in a press release format, did not mention specific employees.

Dr. Strickland asked for the support of students and parents to “ensure that teaching and learning remain the focus so that our students will have the educational environment they deserve.”
