FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – A Florence man is in jail after a brief police chase with South Carolina Highway Patrol Wednesday night.

Cpl. Sonny Collins with highway patrol says troopers attempted to stop a driver for speeding through a construction zone on Highway 327 around 10 p.m. Wednesday night. The driver refused to pull over and troopers initiated a forcible stop with their cruisers.

Troopers were able to get the driver to stop in a gas station parking lot on West Evans Street in Florence. Cpl. Collins says Jaquell Antonio McCullum, 25, of Florence, is charged with DUI, driving under suspension, habitual offender, possession of marijuana, and failure to stop for blue lights.
