PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WBTW) – The 10th Annual Tastes at Pawleys returns at the end of April.
Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church will host the food festival with food samples from 4 to 7 p.m. and live music from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, in the church’s Parish Life Center, 1633 Waverly Road.
This year’s beneficiary is Father Pat’s Lunch Kitchen. Advance admission tickets for adults at $4 each are currently on sale during business hours at the Parish Life Center of the church. Children 12 and under are admitted free.
Opened in 2007 with funds from the first Tastes at Pawleys, Father Pat’s Lunch Kitchen is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays for lunch and Saturday mornings for breakfast. The kitchen serves over 300 people each week and since opening has served over 125,000 meals. It is named after Rev. Patrick J. Stenson MSC, former administrator of Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church, whose dream was to open a food kitchen in Pawleys Island.
Since the first event in 2007, Tastes at Pawleys has returned over $400,000 to the community through organizations whose missions are to feed the hungry and nourish the lives of people in our area. Volunteers will be in the parking lot to assist festival-goers with their cars, and then guests can hop on one of the golf cart limousines, courtesy of Pawleys Island Golf, for a ride to and from the Parish Life Center.
Tastes at Pawleys has 16 local restaurants participating this year including: Austin’s Ocean One, Bistro 217, Chocolate & Coffee House, Coastal Dish Lowcountry Dining, Father Pat’s Kitchen, The Fresh Market, Hanser House Restaurant, Hog Heaven, Litchfield Fish House, Masseys Pizza, Moe’s Original Bar B Que , NY Pizza Kitchen/Sweet Cup, Pastaria 811, Pawleys Island Bakery, Rustic Table and Southern Comforts.
In addition to the food samples, beer from Better Brands and wine will also be available, along with live music from The Paul Grimshaw Band.
Attendees will enjoy Baby Rack Lamb & Crab Cakes, Assorted Chocolates, Prime Rib w/Loaded Mash Potatoes, She Crab Soup, BBQ Sandwich, Pawleys Island Crab Cakes, Veal & Sausage Bolognese, Cinnamon Rolls Treats, Thai Chicken & Fried Rice, Pizza, Ice Cream, Low Country Shrimp & Grits, Tomato, Crab & Jalapeno Soup, Chocolate Mousse Cups, New England Clam Chowder, Fried Chicken on a homemade biscuit with sausage gravy, Seasoned Standing Rib Roast with Broccoli Cranberry Slaw with Almonds, pulled pork slider, Beef Brisket Sliders, and more.
Food tickets will be sold at the event in increments of $1 to purchase tastes from the different booths. Admission tickets at the door are $5 each.
