MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Construction on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach will close portions of the road for three days beginning Monday.

Officials with the city say the project will create three lanes on Ocean Boulevard, from 14th to Ninth Avenue North. Contractors will grind off existing lane lines and paint new lanes. The result will be two travel lanes, a center turn lane and bicycle lanes on the outside.

Work is set to begin Monday and should take three to four days, according to the city. A different portion of Ocean Boulevard will be closed each day, with additional time reserved for unforeseen weather issues.

The road closures include:

  • Monday: Ocean Boulevard, between Ninth Avenue North to Mr. Joe White Avenue
  • Tuesday: Ocean Boulevard, between Mr. Joe White Avenue to 12th Avenue North
  • Wednesday and Thursday: Ocean Boulevard, from 12th Avenue North to 14th Avenue North
