Portions of Ocean Boulevard will be closed as crews work to create three lanes starting Monday.

According to a Facebook post by the Myrtle Beach City Government, Ocean Boulevard will be closed from Ninth Avenue North to Mr. Joe White Avenue, on Monday.

On Tuesday Ocean Boulevard between Mr. Joe White Avenue and 12th Avenue North will be closed.

Wednesday and Thursday Ocean boulevard between 12th Avenue North and 14th Avenue North will be closed.

This is to allow contractors to grind off the existing lane lines and paint new lines. The result will be two lanes of travel, a center turn lane and bicycle lanes on the outside.

Traffic will be detoured around the work, but allow some extra travel time or plan to use an alternative route.
