The major hazards associated with hurricanes are the Storm surge, heavy rainfall, inland flooding and tornadoes. But there are different parts of the storm that have these different threats. The front right part of the storm is the worst. This is where you have your maximum wind, highest storm surge threat and the best chance for tornadoes. The left side of the storm, while still dangerous, is weaker. You tend of have less winds but heavy rain on the left side.
