The Magnolia Mall closed early on Thursday after a threat.

A press release from the Florence Police Department says officers responded to the mall, located at 2701 David Blvd, around 5:30 p.m. in reference to a call that a man intended to hurt himself and others inside the mall. Police searched the mall and found “no evidence of any violent act” or “the presence of anyone described by the caller.” 

The release also states the department has received reports that the “Magnolia Mall has chosen to close for the night.”

Magnolia Mall’s website says the mall is closed for Thursday and will reopen Friday at 10 a.m.

The incident is still under investigation and no other information is being released at this time.
