The Florence County Sheriff’s Office arrested three people during an undercover narcotics operation.
A press release from the office says 24-year-old Herbert McDowell III, 24-year-old Damien Dakote McFadden, and 25-year-old Marcus Sentrell Baker, all of Lake City, were arrested on Tuesday following an undercover operation by narcotics investigators.
According to the release, McDowell’s charges include two counts of manufacturing and distribution of cocaine, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, trafficking in cocaine, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
McFadden’s charges include possession of controlled substances, trafficking in methamphetamine, manufacturing and distribution of cocaine, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Baker is charged with distribution of a controlled substance and manufacturing and distribution of cocaine.
All three suspects remain in the Florence County Detention Center. Baker’s bond was set at $60,000. Bonds for McDowell and McFadden were denied, the release also says.
Major Michael M. Nunn, the office’s Public Information Officer, says these arrests were the result of a month long undercover operation that was prompted by complaints from members of the public. During the operation, FCSO Narcotics Investigators and the FCSO Swat Team executed search warrants at 1402 N. Matthews Road and 204 Green Lake Road in Lake City. Investigators found illegal narcotics and arrested the three men. Investigators say they believe the three men are “responsible for significant drug related activity in the Lake City area.”
Nunn also says an investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
Mugshots for the three men have not been released.
