A portion of Highway 378 was recently dedicated to a local woman.
Horry County officials unveiled a sign for the new “Lois Eargle Highway” on Friday.
The highway will run on a stretch of Highway 378 between Highway 501 and El Bethel Road in Conway.
In 1976, Eargle was the first Horry County woman to run for a seat on the South Carolina state legislature. She has served as the county auditor for about 25 years.
