FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) – Father’s Day weekend got off to a fun and tasty start at Girls University on Saturday. Daughters treated their dads to a homemade meal at Daddy and Me Cooking Night: Summer Cuisine. They prepared fish tacos, lemonade, coleslaw and cake, which many of the girls said was one their favorite parts of the meal.
“My favorite part was the whipped cream, the cake and the juice,” said Trinity.
Emma, who helped prepare the cake with her dad, said she fried it to give it unique taste.
“Frying the cake was a good idea I think and it was really fun working with my dad,” she said.
Some of the girls said it was their first time cooking with their dad, like Joiah, who worked with her dad to prepare and season the fish. Joiah said she usually cooks with her mom so cooking with her dad was something new. But after successfully preparing a delicious meal together, she plans to cook with her dad more often.
From the food, the laughs, and the bonding time with dad, Daddy and Me Cooking Night got some top-notch ratings. On a scale from 1 to 10, Joiah gave it a 10. And the dads had fun as well. Stanley said the whole experience of bonding with his daughters, Daniela and Jessica, was his favorite part. Daniela and Jessica said they were working on a big Father’s Day surprise for their dad.
“It’s a secret. It’s a very big secret,” said Jessica.
