RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A 38-year-old Raleigh man faces felony charges after police said he assaulted a woman with a stapler and slammed her head on a table before throwing an SBI agent to the ground.

On Tuesday, Raleigh police said Lawrence Kendell Minor was at the Dunkin’ Donuts at 3209 Wilmington Street when hit a female employee in the face with a stapler.

An employee told CBS 17’s David Hurst Minor was fired from the store recently and he came back and assaulted the manager.

Police said Minor also pulled the woman’s hair, slammed her head on the floor and stomped on her.

A person called 911 to report the manager being assaulted.

“I’m at the Dunkin’ Donuts and this dude just came in and put his hands on the manager,” the caller said.

An SBI agent happened to be at the business at the time of the assault, police said.

“He came in and assaulted a manger. She’s a female. And then some undercover cops, I’m guessing because they have badges and guns, they just detained him,” the caller reported.

The agent attempted to detain Minor but the suspect hit the agent in the face before slamming him to the ground.

Raleigh police arrived on scene and were able to restrain Minor.

Minor was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and felony assault on a government official.

Minor is expected to appear in court Wednesday.
