A 27-year-old has died after an car accident in Florence.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2014 Kia ran off the road traveling North on Highway I-95 just after midnight Saturday.
After running off the road the car struck a tree, killing the passenger and leaving the driver with serious injuries. Both were not wearing seat-belts.
The Florence County coroner has identified the passenger as 27-year-old Malcolm Xavier Hiers of Florence.
The body will be autopsied Sunday morning at the Medical University of South Carolina. The incident is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
