The Myrtle Beach International Airport saw a record number of passengers during the month of June.

A press release from Kirk Lovell, with the Horry County Department of Airports, says a total of 308,809 passengers passed through the airport in June. This is an increase of 12.8 percent from June 2017, where 273,729 passengers passed through the airport.

“Passengers levels at the Myrtle Beach International Airport reached an all-time record high in June,” says Scott Van Moppes, Director of Airports. “Year-to-date we have welcomed more passengers to the Myrtle Beach, SC than ever before, trending about 14-percent above last year’s record setting levels. In June our airline partners offered nonstop air service from 47 destinations while increasing seat capacity in the majority of existing market pairs. The growth at MYR is being propelled by a healthy airline industry and the popularity of our destination, the Grand Strand.”

Detailed passenger statistics can be found online at flymyrtlebeach.com under “About MYR,” the release also says.
