Firefighters in Florence County responded to a house fire late Friday evening.

According to Dwight Mobley, Fire Marshall for the West Florence Fire Department, the fire was at a home on McDaniel Road. Firefighters received the call about the house fire at 11:50 p.m. Friday.

When crews arrived the house was engulfed in flames. Thankfully all those in the house made it out, though one person was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

According to Mobley it took firefighters about 40 minutes to get the blaze under control.

The house did not have any working smoke detectors.

Mobley and the West Florence Fire Department want to remind everyone to make sure they have working smoke detectors in their homes.
