Battalion Chief John Fowler, with Horry County Fire Rescue, confirms the crash on Highway 701 and Shelly Farm Road. One person has died and one other person has been transported to the hospital. No information on their condition is available.

According to Cpl. Sonny Collins, with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, two vehicles were involved in the crash around 3:40 p.m on Wednesday. A 2013 Hyundai was traveling north on Hwy 701 and a 2004 Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling south on the highway, when the Ford pickup truck crossed the center line and struck the Hyundai.

The driver of the Hyundai was killed as a result of the crash, Collins also says. Horry County Coroner Robert Edge identified the driver as Gwendolyn Denise Brantley, 44, of Conway. Edge says she died from internal injuries.  Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and the driver of the Ford pickup truck has been charged with driving left of center.
