An overheated fan motor was the cause of a fire alarm at Ripley’s Haunted House.
According to the Myrtle Beach Fire Department Twitter page, firefighters responded to a fire alarm at Ripley’s Haunted House on Ocean Boulevard at 11 Saturday morning.
After investigating and finding a light haze of smoke the commanding officer upgraded the incident to a structure fire.
According to Deputy Fire Marshal Christian Silker, the haze was found ot have been from an overheated fan motor. Firefighters removed the fan and the building was deemed safe.
