The man charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of another man in a Longs Food Lion parking lot appeared in court in North Carolina on Monday.
The Columbus County Clerk of Court confirmed James Bellamy refused extradition during a court appearance. Bellamy’s bond was also increased to include three felony robbery with a deadly weapon charges from the Chadbourn Police Department. His bond for these charges is $500,000. Bellamy’s bond on other charges remains at $5 million.
According to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, because Bellamy fought extradition, he will remain in the county until at least his next court appearance on September 14.
Bellamy, of Tabor City, North Carolina, was arrested by United States Marshals on Wednesday in Fair Bluff, NC in connection to the case, according to Capt. John Harrelson of the Horry County Police Department.
