GEORGETOWN, SC (WBTW) – The chairman of the Tidelands Health board of trustees, H. McRoy Skipper Jr., and his wife, Jo, were killed in a car crash Wednesday, according to Georgetown County officials.

In an email Thursday morning, Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Beth Stedman said the Skippers died in a car accident in North Carolina Wednesday afternoon.

Skipper, a CPA and partner with WebsterRogers LLP, was the longtime chairman of the Tidelands Health board of trustees.

“It is with tremendous sorrow that we learned of the tragic loss of Jo and H. McRoy Skipper, Jr.,” writes Stedman. “Our prayers are with the Skippers’ family, friends, and colleagues at this difficult time.”
