Gov. Henry McMaster issued an executive order on Monday closing specific schools and state government offices.
Schools that are closed until further notice under this order include those in the following counties: Horry, Georgetown, Florence, Dillon, Marion, Malboro, Darlington, Williamsburg, Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester, Colleton, Beaufort, Jasper, Hampton, Allendale, Barnwell, Bamberg, Orangeburg, Calhoun, Clarendon, Sumter, Richland, Lexington, and Aiken .
Coastal Carolina University will be closed on Tuesday until further notice, according to a post of the university’s Facebook page.
Francis Marion University will be closed starting Tuesday “through the passage of Hurricane Florence,” according to FMU’s website.
Florence Darlington Technical College will be closed Tuesday “through the duration of the storm,” according ot the Clay Williams, with FDTC.
Horry Georgetown Technical College will be closed beginning at 5 p.m on Monday for the remainder of the week, according to the college’s website.
Coker College will be closed starting at 1 p.m. on Wednesday and classes are expected to resume at 8 a.m. on September 17, according to a post on the college’s Facebook page.
The University of North Carolina-Pembroke announced the school will be closed starting 8 a.m. on Wednesday through Saturday, according to the university’s website.
University of South Carolina (Columbia) has canceled classed beginning Tuesday at 1 p.m. until further notice, according to the school’s website.
