Some people are finding Positively Carolina ways to help people after Hurricane Florence.
Operation Airdrop came about after Hurricane Harvey left many people stranded and cut off.
South Carolina pilots are asking for donations and then flying them to people in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where not everyone is able to get back to their homes, and supplies cannot get to the people.
Pilots are flying items like baby formula, diapers, wipes, batteries, flashlights, toiletries, nonperishable food items, clean clothes, and pet food.
“One of my clients, I linked up with him and asked him if he was able to donate his airplane, which he has graciously offered, and he’s offered his space in his hanger,” says Wes Air Services pilot Sebastian Castro. “That’s kind of how it started, I looked in to nonprofits in the area that wanted to get supplies into affected areas.”
According to the map on the Operation Airdrop website, there is one volunteer pilot and plane out of the WBTW News13 area in Marion.
