Myrtle Beach, SC (WBTW) – Over the last week we have seen several local athletes and schools do anything they can to help clean up after Florence and prepare for the upcoming flooding and while
some area schools such as Loris and Lumberton were hit hard by the storm.  St. James and
North Myrtle Beach were relatively spared and are open to helping get those not as lucky
back on the field, even if it means using their facilities.

St. James coach Tommy Norwood said:

“No body has said anything to us about using our game fields but I’m sure coach Hurston and Mr. Pinell would be more than open for anyone here in Horry County to do that if they needed to. We are very fortunate here that the school system did a tremendous job with the drainage on our field and you know we could play any day really and truly.”

North Myrtle Beach coach Matt Reel said:

“I think that is one thing that the high school league has talked to us about with all these meetings is that it can’t be a what’s best for you type decision it has to be a what’s best for us as a whole type of decision and that is just the way I was raised, the way that I believe.”
