One man is dead after he was hit by a car while he was in an electric wheel chair early Sunday morning.
According to Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown, the man died from injures he received after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run around 1 a.m. on Sunday.
The victim was taken to a hospital in Florence, where he later died.
Brown identified the man who died as John Gillespie, 80, of Bennettsville.
SC Highway Patrol is investigating.
