LATTA, SC (WBTW) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol says one person died in a crash involving an 18-wheeler in Dillon County Wednesday night.
According to troopers, the crash happened around 4:15 p.m. along SC 38, at Meggs Island Road. That’s west of Latta.
Troopers say an 18-wheeler hit a van that was parked on the shoulder of the road and then the van pulled back into the road in front of the 18-wheeler. The driver of the van was killed. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not hurt. No charges are expected to be filed.
No names have been released at this time.
