A Disaster Recovery Center opened in Marion County on Wednesday.

According to Ogleretta White, with Marion County Planning and Special Project, the center opened at 1 p.m. at the Marion County Industrial Park, which is located in the Road Rescue Building at 2914 Spartan Place in Marion. 

Officials will be assisting with services for FEMA, people having issues with online and phone applications, and updates on the assessments and appeals process, White also says. 

Other centers opened on Tuesday in Horry, Dillon, and Chesterfield Counties. 

According to a press release from Henry McMaster Office of the Governor, the centers in these counties are located at the following addresses:

Chesterfield County

Northeast Technical College Building 200- 1201 Chesterfield Highway, Cheraw, SC. Hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Dillon County
City of Dillon Wellness Center- 1647 Commerce Drive, Dillon, SC. Hours are Monday through Friday from  7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Horry County
Horry Georgetown Technical College- 2050 US 501, Conway, SC. Hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Disaster survivors can visit any center for assistance and the centers are accessible to people with disabilities, the release says. “Centers have assistive technology equipment allowing disaster survivors to use amplified telephones, phones that display text, amplified listening devices for people with hearing loss, and magnifiers for people with vision loss. Video Remote Interpreting is available and in-person sign language is available by request. The centers also have accessible parking, ramps and restrooms.”

  • Address of the location where the damage occurred (pre-disaster address)
  • Current mailing address
  • Current telephone number
  • Insurance information
  • Total household annual income
  • Routing and account number for checking or savings account (this allows direct transfer of funds into a bank account)
  • A description of disaster-caused damage and losses
