Vigils and a memorial service will be held after Wednesday’s shooting of eight people, including seven law enforcement officers.
A tweet from the Richland County Sheriff’s Office says a vigil will be held Thursday night at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church, located at 300 South Irby Street in Florence.

A candlelight vigil for law enforcement officers will be held on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the old Florence County Court House parking lot.
A prayer service will be held at the Florence County Complex, located 180 N. Irby Street, at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to a press release from Central United Methodist Church. Pastors and civic leaders will be outside on the patio.
A public viewing will be held for Officer Terrence Carraway on Monday, Oct. 8 from 9 to 11 a.m. at 300 West Radio Drive according to another tweet from the Richland County Sheriff’s Office. A memorial service will follow at 12 p.m.at the Florence Center.
