GoFundMe accounts have been set up for Florence law enforcement officers after Wednesday’s shooting.

Serve and Connect, along with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Association, the SC Police Chiefs Association, and the SC Law Enforcement Assistance Program, started two GoFundMe accounts “to provide immediate aid to these officers and their families,” according to a press release from Serve and Connect. 

One account is for Officer Terrence Carraway’s family and the second “will provide aid to the injured law enforcement officers and their families,” the release says. “100% of funds will be donated to the officers and families.” Another account has been made for Officer Scott Williamson who was wounded in the shooting.

Every dollar and each share communicates that these officers are supported and their sacrifice honored,”

“Our hearts are broken following the loss of Officer Terrence Carraway and we continue to pray for the six officers who were shot in the line of duty. The funds raised through the GoFundMe response will be donated to support their recovery and to honor the sacrifice of Officer Carraway,” Ryan Alphin, Executive Director of the SC Law Enforcement Officers Association and SC Police Chiefs Association, said in the release. “The South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Association and the South Carolina Police Chiefs Association are proud to endorse these campaigns.”

One suspect is in custody and a Florence police officer is deceased after eight people, seven of which were law enforcement officers, were shot in Florence Wednesday evening. 

Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identified the officer who died as Terrence Carraway, 52, of Darlington. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital and an autopsy will be conducted on Thursday at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. No other details on other victims’ conditions is available.
