PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WBTW) – Crews rescued two men from the cold ocean waters off north Pawleys Island on Tuesday.
According to Midway Fire Rescue, the two people were in the ocean about 100 yards offshore in a kayak that overturned in the north Pawleys Island area.
Both people are being checked for hypothermia, but are in safe condition, according to Midway Fire Rescue Division Chief Mark Nugent.
Water resources and personnel began the rescue operation at about 3:30 on Tuesday. Rescue swimmers have cleared the scene.
