MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The owner of a pest control company in Myrtle Beach was charged for allegedly failing to pay state taxes over a number of years.

Beverly Griggs, owner of Todd’s Best Exterminating Company Inc. in Myrtle Beach, was arrested Tuesday by South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) agents, according to SCDOR. Griggs is charged with five counts of failure to pay over a tax.

As the business owner and operator, Griggs was responsible for making Withholding Tax payments, reports SCDOR. For filing periods April 2010 through December 2010 and tax years 2011 through 2014, Griggs failed to pay $182,630 in state taxes withheld from employee wages to the SCDOR.

Booking records at J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Horry County who Griggs was booked at 12:56 p.m. on Oct. 16, and she was released later that day at 4:03 p.m.. If convicted, she faces fines up to $10,000 and/or up to five years in prison per charge.
