PAMPLICO, SC (WBTW) – The outpouring of support for the law enforcement officers who were shot in the line of duty in Florence continues.

On Friday, Raider Station in Pamplico hosted a chicken bog fundraiser. All of the proceeds will be given to the officers and their families. Each chicken bog lunch was sold for $8 and came with a side of green beans, coleslaw, and chicken wings. People could also buy boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts and drop money into a donation jar. Organizers of the event said plates sold very quickly. They told News13 their goal was to sell 1,200 plates and they almost sold half of that just in the first few minutes.

“The first half hour, we had already gone through the first batch of chicken bog. So we fell behind there immediately because we had so many orders to be delivered. McLeod and lot of the doctors pitched in and bought their families and their workers dinner. It’s a bunch of people that felt compelled to help out in a way that they could and this was a dinner that everyone could get together and donate and participate in helping,” said Kurt Ziegenfelder.

On Friday evening, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office confirmed two deputies, Arie Davis and Sarah Miller, were released from the hospital. Investigator Farrah Turner remains hospitalized in critical condition.
