MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Nighttime lane closures are planned for a portion of US 17 in Myrtle Beach as SCDOT makes improvements to reduce the number of car crashes.
The City of Myrtle Beach says the South Carolina Department of Transportation will be working along US 17 at 76th Avenue North to make improvements to the intersection. The road work will happen at night so no detours will be required.
The addition of turn lanes and acceleration lanes was first discussed in 2015 in order to reduce the number of wrecks at that location, the city says. The nighttime work just got underway. Nighttime lane closures on US 17 will be needed.
An expected completion date was not given.
