The McColl Police Department reminded residents on Facebook that they can’t get their “homies” out of jail through social media.

“Contrary to what you may have seen on Facebook, posting ‘free my homie the fast way’ does nothing to affect how fast he/she is released from jail,” the Facebook post says.

“First and foremost if said ‘homie’ would not have broken the law, he/she would in fact still be free,” the post further says. “Secondly, if you do in fact wish to free him/her the fast way, help them post bond. Comments on Facebook do not have monetary value.”

“Thank you for your time. This has been another PSA from your friendly neighborhood McColl Police Department. Have a great night.”
