Moore Farms Botanical Garden teamed up with the Florence area humane society to help dogs in need.
Furry friends from the Pee Dee were invited to spend the day at the garden for a special cause.
“We are raising some money for the humane society, as well as passing out some information and talking about our needs with the public,” said board member of the Florence area humane society, Caitlin Hart.
Moore Farms Botanical Garden hosted their annual ‘Dog Daze’ event to benefit dogs who have been abandoned.
“There’s so many dogs that are in need. They need help, and I just think it’s an excellent cause and what better way to spend your money on a Saturday afternoon,” said resident April Smith.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from the event will help dozens of animal that are awaiting adoption, and require medical treatment, vaccinations, and special care.
“There really is a need in the Florence area. So many dogs are up for adoption, and great dogs that need a home,” said communication coordinator for Moore Farms Botanical Garden, Haley Hughes.
If you’re looking to help a furry friend, you’re in luck because the Florence area humane society will host ‘Light 4 Paws’ in December.
“Please come out and support us as much as you can. We hope to be around and support the rest of the community as well,” said Hart.
