The South Carolina Highway Patrol has arrested a person for a deadly hit and run that happened in Front of Socastee High School around 2:30 Sunday morning.
Cpl Sonny Collins confirms Fernando Arnoldo Sacalxo Tambris was charged with hit and run involving death Sunday.
According to LCpl. Judd Jones, a car and a bicyclist were both traveling south on Highway 707 just south of Myrtle Beach when the car hit the cyclist from behind.
The bicyclist was killed, and the driver left the scene. The coroner’s office identified the victim as 62-year-old James L Bremer Jr. of Myrtle Beach. According to Deputy Coroner Chris Dontell, Bremer was a long time area resident and a loving father of three.
