A Marion County man has been charged with attempted murder after another man was found with a gunshot wound. 

According to an incident report from the Horry County Police Department, first responders were dispatched to a residence on Hwy 430 around 7 p.m. on October 26 for a shooting. Upon arriving, deputies were told about a victim who had been shot in the leg. When a responding deputy found the victim, the victim was bleeding from the left leg, near the knee area.

The victim, a 55-year-old Nichols man, stated to police that he was robbed and shot in the leg by unknown suspects, the report says. EMS responded, began treating the victim, and transported the victim to a hospital. 

Travis Devon Johnson, 29, of Nichols, was arrested and charged in the case, according to J. Reuben Long Detention Center booking records. His charges include attempted murder, first degree burglary, grand larceny of $10,000 or more, armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and sale or delivery of pistol to, and possession by, certain person unlawful. Johnson was booked around 3:15 p.m. on Friday and remains in the center as of 12:45 p.m. on Monday.
