DARLINGTON, SC (WBTW) – The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office has announced an arrest for a shooting that hurt one person Monday evening.
Rahiem Jaquan Fortune has been charged with attempted murder after he turned himself in to investigators Wednesday.
Lt. Robert Kilgo with the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office says someone called 911 stating a person was banging on their door in the 2000-block of Philadelphia Street.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found a man who had been shot on a back porch. The man said he was “trying to get help,” but would not tell deputies where the shooting happened.
The victim was transported to a local hospital.
Fortune is expected to appear before a Darlington magistrate Thursday morning.
