The deadlines for residents in South Carolina and North Carolina to apply for FEMA assistance following Hurricane Florence, are quickly approaching.

In South Carolina, victims have until the end of the night Wednesday (12 a.m.) to apply for disaster assistance. You can apply for aid with uninsured damage repairs, temporary housing assistance or other needs.

To do so, the South Carolina Emergency Management Division encourages you to visit this website, or call 800-621-3362 or 800-462-7585 (TTY) from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. Multilingual operators are available.

In North Carolina, residents have until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, December 13.

“Hurricane Florence was a gut punch to North Carolina and families, businesses, farms and entire communities are working hard to recover”, said Governor Roy Cooper.

People in 34 counties are eligible to apply for individual assistance, including residents in Robeson, Scotland, Brunswick and Columbus Counties.

Gov. Cooper says more than $976 million in state and federal resources have been approved for North Carolina, to date.
