Aynor High School’s auditorium was evacuated on Tuesday evening after pepper spray was possibly used during a musical production.
Aynor High School was hosting Aynor Middle School’s musical production on Tuesday evening when the incident occurred, according to Lisa Bourcier, with Horry County Schools. Around 7 p.m., it appeared that someone sprayed pepper spray and the auditorium was evacuated.
Bourcier says people were coughing and the production was stopped. Aynor police are investigating and Horry County Fire rescue is also on scene.
According to a tweet from Horry County Fire Rescue, multiple units and hazmat team responded to the school. Three people were transported and crews were working to clear the scene.

Aynor High School posted on FB that the situation has been deemed safe and the incident is under investigation:
Aynor Police Department Chief David Thompson told News13 on Wednesday that in regards to the incident, indications are that some type of pepper spray was released. Police are working to determine who was involved and whether it was accidental or intentional.
