An Horry County teacher has been named South Carolina’s 2018 Outstanding Teacher in Health Sciences.
Lucia Watson, a health sciences teacher at Conway High School, received the award from SC Health Science Educators, a division of the SC Association of Career and Technical Education, according to a press release from Lisa Bourcier, with Horry County Schools.
“This award recognizes educators who provide outstanding career and technical education programs for youth and/or adults in the field of health sciences,” says the release. “Recipients of this award have made significant contributions toward innovative and unique programs that improve and promote educational opportunities and career preparedness in health sciences.”
The award was presented to Watson on Thursday at the SC Health Science Education Professional Development Conference.
