Myrtle Beach police are investigating a reported carjacking that resulted in a multi-vehicle crash. 

According to Cpl. Tom Vest, officers are in the area of Mr. Joe White Avenue and Hwy 17 Bypass investigating a crash involving multiple vehicles. One person fled from the scene. 

“Initial reports indicate that the crash is related to a carjacking,” says the release. “The scene is secure, however there are traffic delays. Please consider alternate routes while officers work to reopen the road.”

Police confirm 26-year-old Anthony Gamble was charged with carjacking, resisting arrest, two counts of hit and run, reckless driving and driving with a suspended license.
