Coastal Carolina University’s president intends to retire in 2021, the university says. 

CCU announced in a post on their website that President David A. DeCenzo plans to retire in 2021. The university also announced in the post that CCU’s Board of Trustees approved the creation of a presidential search advisory committee to start the process of finding CCU’s next president. 

The presidential search committee will have seven trustees, a faculty member, a staff member, a dean, an athletic administrator, and one representative each from the Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, Executive Council, Student Government Association, Coastal Alumni Association, Chanticleer Athletic Foundation, Coastal Educational Foundation, and the Horry County Higher Education Commission.

CCU’s incoming president will be selected to work with President DeCenzo for about one year before his retirement, CCU’s website also says.
