HANAHAN, SC (WCBD) – “The only disability is having a bad attitude.” Hanahan Hawks Defensive Lineman, Cooper Dawson, has signed with Syracuse.

During a press event Wednesday, his friend, Kingsley Fineman, who suffers from cerebral palsy, made the announcement.

“I brought Kingsley out here today because he has inspired me a lot through the torn ACL process,” said Dawson. “He taught me the only disability is having a bad attitude, and if he can come around every day with this big smile on, I can do it just the same.”

Dawson promised Fineman he would tell him before telling anyone else. He proceeded to whisper his choice to Fineman, who then announced the decision to the room.

Then sharing the bright orange Syracuse hats, Dawson signed his contract before a cheering audience.

Dawson was deciding between Clemson University, Syracuse University and the University of Central Florida.
