MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – David Fiori of Anytime Fitness joined News13 NOW on Friday to talk about setting realistic fitness goals in the new year. Fiori is the owner of the Anytime Fitness gym locations in Myrtle Beach and Litchfield Beach.
He advices the use of the “SMART” acronym to help people set realistic goals.

- Measurable
- Accountable
- Realistic
- Time Bound
An example would be setting a goal to lose a total of 5-8lbs (specific, measurable and realistic) in the month of January (time bound) by walking/working out 30 minutes 3 times a week and following a proper nutrition plan that changes daily/weekly. Accountability would come by involving family, friends or coworkers in the activity.
