FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – One person was killed after an SUV collided with a tractor trailer on Freedom Boulevard in Florence County Thursday morning.

According to Cpl. Sonny Collins with South Carolina Highway Patrol, the driver of a 2014 Ford SUV was traveling north when she attempted to make a u-turn on Freedom Boulevard near St. Buelah Road around 11:20 a.m. The SUV was struck on the passenger side by a tractor trailer traveling southbound.

The passenger in the SUV was killed in the crash, confirms Cpl. Collins. Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identifies the victim as Lillie Mae Miller, 77, of Timmonsville.

The condition of the 74-year-old driver was not immediately known. The driver of the tractor trailer was not hurt in the wreck.

South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate this crash.
