UPDATE: The Horry County Coroner’s Office has released the identities of the victims in Friday’s deadly crash.
Glenda Smith, 62, and Jada Carter, 17, both died in Friday’s wreck, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden. The two were grandmother and granddaughter and lived in the Aynor area.
Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the crash.
AYNOR, SC (WBTW) – Firefighters with Horry County Fire Rescue are responding to a crash at the intersection of Valley Forge Road and Louisville Road in the Aynor area.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, two people were killed in this crash. The Highway Patrol says that a Chevrolet HHR was traveling on Louisville Road when the driver disregarded a stop sign at the intersection with Valley Forge Road and was hit by a GMC Yukon.
According to Horry County Fire Rescue, the call was dispatched at 3 p.m. Friday. One of the vehicles caught fire.
Highway Patrol says that the driver and two passengers of the Yukon were taken to the hospital for injuries. The driver and one passenger in the HHR were killed in the crash.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
