CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – A 2nd grader from Waccamaw Elementary was found running along Highway 501, according to police.
On January 11, Horry County Police responded to a 911 call that a 2nd grader was running by himself on the side of the road. The caller asked the student if he was ok and he said no. The caller brought him back to school at Waccamaw Elementary.
Officers reviewed surveillance tapes and saw the 2nd grader went to the bathroom on his own and left school. Lt. Raul Denis says investigators found no sign of neglect on the school’s behalf and did not file a police report.
Call logs show the child’s parents were called and the school is handling the incident.
